FEEDING HUNGRY CHILDREN
NO CHILD DESERVES TO BE HUNGRY
It is impossible to imagine any child would go to bed hungry. Yet that is the reality for millions of children across the US. For many families, they have to make the decision between paying rent or buying groceries, and, quite often, three square meals are not a regular occurrence. This is why so many schools implement free meal programs for kids who they know are not getting adequate nutrition at home. Yet now with COVID-19 and school closures, the families who relied on at least one good meal a day for their children do not have that support. And the loss of jobs and high unemployment has only made this situation worse.
According to the USDA, more than 11 million children in the United States live in "food insecure" homes — meaning those households don't have enough food for every family member to lead a healthy life.
As a result of the Coronavirus pandemic, projections show that 18 million children could face hunger this year.
Millions of kids rely on school for regular meals. But in the summer, those meals disappear as well.
1 in 7 people in the U.S. face hunger every year. The rates of hunger in children are even higher, with about 1 in 5 lacking proper access to food at some point during the year.
1.16 million American kids struggle with hunger each year.
There has never been a better time to start a conversation about feeding hungry children, and the purchase of our phone case sheds light on this growing epidemic as well as helps in a small way to fight this very concerning issue.
We will donate 12% of the profits from the sale of every phone case for Feeding Hungry Children to a charity doing its best to supply meals for those kids in need.
